III.1 : Physical
The distinguished identity of force and its gravity.
By vision,
I see a world of independent bodies,
set apart by their various features.
Here they are —
distinguished.
Ever-separated.
Each, with their own significance,
their own gravity,
their own boundary,
of which all other bodies
are bound to acknowledge.
This is what characterizes the physical domain
The movement that distinguishes,
divides, separates, and delimits.
Why the term “physical?”
Once, I saw all things in the world
made up of a basic substance, a material.
Yet, with no clue of what this material was
or even could be.
It was the point of all of things.
Even, depicted as a geometric point.
What else could be more fundamental
than a basic, unchanging node
of a vague somethingness?
Plenty, in truth — all things.
The physical was earthen.
Alone? Immovable. Insurmountable.
The mountain and its apex.
But now, it is only difference. Contrast.
And if there was a basic material,
this would be what it is.
The delineation of “this” versus “that.”
The movement going on
to establish location and position
A basic unit of identity.
Here, the point-like image remains,
As things are only found different
in terms of where they happen to be
in relation to another.
