III.2 : Tonal
That place force can’t help but to take place in.
By vision,
I see a world of open fields
upon and throughout which bodies
can exchange and interact.
Of course, the tonal is not about
the bodies themselves.
It’s about the spaces between
around,
and through them.
The void.
That place where it all happens.
This is what characterizes the tonal domain.
That place that enables the smoothing
blending,
leveling, and equalization
of differences
letting them be upon the same plane,
so that they may have their differences.
Why the term “tonal?”
Once, I saw all things in the world
connected, tethered to each other.
Each object,
a mere node in a sprawling web
whose chains undulated in oceanic
harmony.
Depicted, they were geometric lines
that were impossible to escape.
Impossible to cut, and yet, all,
ever-expanding
for the purposes of generating new nodes.
New material.
Now, while they still allow differences
to be made clear,
it’s done by simply providing the space.
For them to interface.
To locally congeal.
And should those nodes find themselves
ill-fitted
to be where they are,
well,
circumstances allowing,
something else will convene upon that place.
The misfit is free.
Beholden to that open expanse.
Teeming with others
just like it.
